New 64bit server is finally ready for building packages !!!!!!

All my debian repository is now 64bit ready

Hi Guys !!!

This WE I just finished to setup my brand new 64bit processor with MS Hyper-V and lot of Linux Distros.

What this post mean ?!?!?!? Simply !!!! By now all packages I released on my Debian Repository will be available for amd64 architecture!!!

If you need some help with my packages, simply leave a mail !!!!

cowbuilder and debian stable/etch

Hi guys, I’m now working to create an automatic process to download/build/package a lot of .deb filez. Compiling environment is made with cowdancer/cowbuilder, so I can use a virtual builder to create multi-distro packages (currently stable/testing/unstable/experimental). I got a strange error with cowdancer / stable build. When I try to compile a package, I got this strange error:

 Attempting to satisfy build-dependencies
 -> Creating pbuilder-satisfydepends-dummy package
cowdancer: .ilist size unexpected
cowdancer: .ilist size unexpected
cowdancer: .ilist size unexpected
cowdancer: .ilist size unexpected
cowdancer: .ilist size unexpected
sh: /tmp/satisfydepends-aptitude/pbuilder-satisfydepends-dummy/DEBIAN/control: Cannot allocate memory
E: pbuilder-satisfydepends failed.

So I can’t compile anything for stable distro I solved with a very little workaround. In my stable build command line, I used –debian-etch-workaround switch and, now, all works OK !!!

How to purge unused debian conf files

After you uninstall some .deb packages, you need to completely erase all unused configuration files.
You can use one line command like that:

dpkg -l | grep “^rc” | awk -F’ ‘ {‘print $2′} | xargs dpkg –purge

If you want to automatically purge unused .deb packages on your debian distro (perhaps after an aptitude upgrade), you can safely use this piece of code:

while [ `deborphan | wc -l` -gt 0 ]; do
        deborphan | xargs dpkg --purge
done

SMB4K and KDE 4.0.x and KDE 4.1.x

Someone is a nostalgic user of SMB4K (currently only for KDE 3.x) ???
